FIFA 16 is coming. Do you think you have
get an all-rounded knowledge about FIFA 16? Actually not. Recently, EA
Sports' Creative Director, Matthew Prior gave more covered information
about FIFA 16.
1.
Extremely authentic is not EA’s pursue
Why
FIFA is fun to play even if you never play football in real life? That’s
because EA consciously manage to balance authenticity with entertainment, extremely
authentic is not EA’s pursue.
‘There's
a balance we need to keep. Our game is a representation of a real world game,
but it's intrinsically not that. It's much smaller, with things like 12-minute
halves instead of 45, so that experience fundamentally has to be
different." says Prior.
2. It is true that EA
listens to the gamers.
“What
we want to do, some of which is driven by community, some by the feedback of
the previous game.” Prior says, “As soon as you put it out there and millions
of games happen every day, you sometimes get feedback that you didn't expect.
So it's a combination of those things.”
3. Maybe scoring more
with long shots in FIFA 16
While
we previewing FIFA 16, we found that defenders appear to be even smarter this
time round, which means it’s harder to score in this game. As a resort, we
started letting fly from distance... with instant success.
To
this, Prior said: “Balance is the eternal challenge, because you want to
introduce features that have an impact so people use them, but at the same time
not overuse them so you can always score using this pass or whatever."
4. Years in advance does
EA works on each version
There
is a short cycle between games, does EA start from scratch after every edition?
The answer is, no.
According
to Prior , they always have a long-term plan for FIFA which often changes. But they
have a long-term vision where they look a couple of years ahead. Then they
build features with a view to where they will be in two years time.
“We
don't just build for the now and think ‘what next?’ There is a kind of method
in the way we build things.” says Prior.
5. The EA Sports team
actually likes PES
As
the competitor of FIFA, what does EA sport thinkof PES? Said Prior: "We
like PES, we're glad it's out there. We think competition from the user
perspective is good, so we're happy that they exist. They make a good game, it
keeps us on our toes, and I'm sure vice versa.”
