With just 5 days
remaining, the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia will be held at the Konstantin Palace
in St Petersburg on Saturday 25 July.
The draw ceremony will
begin at 18.00 local time. It determines who plays who in the various
qualifying competitions across the world, with the fate of 141 teams from five
confederations (the AFC’s member associations are not involved in the draw)
being revealed. The line-up of football icons, Ronaldo, Diego Forlan,
Fabio Cannavaro, Samuel Eto'o, Oliver Bierhoff, Rinat Dasaev and Alexander
Kerzhakov, will assist the FIFA Secretary General, Jérôme Valcke, in deciding
the fates of the teams.
The Preliminary Draw
will not only reveal what lies ahead for the teams seeking a coveted spot in
the final stage in Russia, but also give global football fans a glimpse of
