It was announced last week that US Women's
National Team football star, Alex Morgan is on the cover of the upcoming FIFA 16.
Morgan, has won her first Women's World
Cup in July. Here are five things you may didn't know about Alex Morgan.
1. She's the first woman who ever on the cover of the "FIFA"
series
Morgan will appear alongside Lionel
Messi as the first woman to ever appear on the cover of the U.S. version of
FIFA 16. It is a historical action, and a stone based event. She will be remembered
in the history of FIFA games.
2. "Baby Horse" is her nickname in team
Because of her running style, Morgan's
teammates called her "Baby Horse." Some fans still call her by this
nickname, Morgan's teammates have moved on from it. "I think she's
definitely a stallion now," said Megan Rapinoe, her teammate.
3. FIFA president Sepp Blatter didn't know who she
was
While at the FIFA World Player of the
Year event in 2012, Morgan was unnoticed. "At that time, FIFA executives and FIFA president Sepp
Blatter didn't know who I was. And I was being honored as top three in the
world. That was pretty shocking," said Morgan.
4. She was a multi-sport athlete
Morgan played multiple sports but as
life got more hectic, Morgan had to choose one from them. Morgan said that she chose the sports she loved most and football
was always at the top of list. She knew football club was a big commitment and she
wasn’t ready for that until age 14.
5. She has published novels
Teamed up with Simon & Schuster
Children's Publishing, Morgan wrote The Kicks, a three-book series for middle
school children, in 2012.
